One of the best slacklining and highlining scene in Canada is in Squamish. The mountains brings the community together all year long, but especially during the summer with the famous Squamish Highliners Gathering by Slacklife BC. 

Want to get into slacklining? All you need is a slackline kit and two trees in a park to install it! Most towns have slackline park meet-ups which you can probably find on Facebook groups! 

Inside the cuff of every Rowdy Sock, there's a hidden message. 

At first, highlining seems quite stechy: how can walking on a one inch piece of webbing hundreds of feet in the air be safe? Well, you're tied in. And hopefully, people you are with know how to rig properly. The most common cause (by far) of highline accidents are human mistakes. Always BUDDY CHECK before starting a highline session. Therefore, this is what you can read inside the cuff of the slackliner / highliner Rowdy Hemp Sock. 

The hemp socks might need a little breaking in. Since hemp is a natural fiber, you may notice some pilling when you wear them. It’s nothing to worry about; it settles. With pilling, the more you wear them, the better they will look again. It’s strange, but that is how it works!

Chemical additives can be used to help resist piling, but at The Rowdy Town, we have decided against using those substances on our socks. Over time, even with those substances, the pilling would still occur.

Most importantly, the hemp socks will remain sturdy even with this phenomenon. Keep wearing them and keep getting Rowdy!
